Your own risk averseness will also play a big part as some of the below options are definitely a lot safer than others. So what are the options then? Well, to start with, we have the simplest and quite often, the best. A good old fashioned hand saw. While definitely the most labour intensive of all the options a sharp handsaw gets through a sleeper surprisingly quick. The quickest, safest and least dusty way to mitre large timbers is with an electric chainsaw. Just mark accurately and cut slowly and steadily.
