Dec 06, 2013 · Eclipse 77 Saw Sets. Posted on December 5, 2013 by Jonathan. Earlier this year, I purchased a bunch of tools on eBay.co.uk. I blogged about it here. Two of the auctions that I won were for Eclipse No. 77 saw sets. The pictures that were in the listings weren’t very good but the prices were great, so I bought both of them and paid about $4 each.

Sep 29, 2021 · Very, very poor saw. Despite the 12tpi (ie fine cut), this saw is nigh on impossible to start a cut. The teeth are very deep and aggressive, and even in softwood I found it impossible to complete a cut through a 1/2 inch piece. The back is the thinnest ever piece of pressed metal I've ever seen on a saw.

How To Choose A Hand For Wood Working

Oct 14, 2021 · Dovetail back saws are the smallest back saws (typically 8-10″) and are configured with fine rip-filed teeth (11-20 ppi) for cutting along the grain (think dovetails). Thinner blades (0.02″ ish) are preferred and I like the pistol grip handle because of my big hands (see above).

Very satisfied. Was in need of a pair of good tenon/carcass saws. Poured over all the brands and reviews. I took the unplugged workshop last year and Tom Caspar had the dovetail Veritas and said he really enjoyed it. I have a good Dozuki as well, but these outperform it in certain applications.

These bow saws show a very good level of fit and finish. With all ECE bow saws the distance between the saw blade and the beam is about 110 mm, but if you pivot the blade 90° this becomes 130 mm. The length given for the ECE saw blades is the entire length of the blade, and not the distance between the mounting hole centers.
